Bridging Academia and Industry: FEIE’s Dissemination of International Projects
On March 5, 2025, the Faculty of Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering (FEIE) of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) hosted a roundtable dedicated to the dissemination of international academic and research activities. The event served as a crucial platform for faculty members to show their involvement in various international projects and initiatives, underlining the importance of global collaboration in education and research.
The main objective of the roundtable was to familiarize associated partners with the progress, achievements and tangible results of these projects, thus strengthening the synergy between academia and industry. By sharing perspectives and results, the event aimed to increase the visibility of international collaborations and attract additional engagement from external stakeholders.
A highlight of the meeting was the participation of representatives of SOFTWARESTAFF and M-CONSULTING, two companies actively involved in technological development and industry-academia partnerships. Their presence underlined the growing importance of educational collaboration and applied research and its impact on industrial innovation. In addition, colleagues from the Technical University of Sofia contributed valuable insights, strengthening inter-university relations and promoting cross-border academic exchanges.
This gathering facilitated dynamic discussions on ongoing and future collaborations, especially within the framework of European Union-funded initiatives such as Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe. The active involvement of industry and academia representatives highlighted the need to integrate research results into real-world applications, ensuring that scientific advances effectively contribute to socio-economic development.
FEIE faculty members delivered impactful presentations, demonstrating the depth and breadth of international cooperation:
Prof. Univ., Ph.D. Ilie Nuca presented his research in renewable energy systems, highlighting advances that align with global sustainability goals and the objectives of the European Green Deal.
Lector Univ. Dr. Corina Guțu-Chetrușca highlighted the remarkable success of the DIGITRANS ERASMUS+ KA2 project, detailing the newly acquired laboratory equipment and the significance of the Double Degree Study Agreement signed with Riga Technical University. This initiative paves the way for a joint master’s program, offering students an enriched academic experience and expanded career opportunities.
Lecturers Iulian Rotari and Adrian Țurcanu presented the conclusions of their doctoral research, presenting innovative approaches and technological advances relevant to the energy and electrical engineering sectors.
The roundtable highlighted the essential role of international projects in promoting academic excellence, curriculum modernization and industry-oriented research. By disseminating results through such platforms, UTM not only improves its international academic footprint, but also attracts new collaborative partnerships, strengthening its reputation as a center for innovation and interdisciplinary research.
Furthermore, the event catalyzed discussions on new funding opportunities, joint research proposals and expanding networks between universities and industry actors. The exchange of knowledge and best practices between international partners highlights the transformative potential of sustained collaboration.
