Official Opening of the Sustainable Urban Transport Laboratory (SUTLab) within the ISDEGO Project

On May 14, 2026, Technical University of Moldova officially inaugurated the Sustainable Urban Transport Laboratory (SUTLab) within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE project “Implementation of Sustainable Urban Development Goals in Transport Bachelor Degree” (ISDEGO), Project No. 101179915.

The opening event took place during International Week 2026 and brought together representatives of the university management, academic staff, and international partners who joined us during the International Week organized at Technical University of Moldova.

The newly established SUTLab will serve as an educational and research centre dedicated to supporting modern teaching methods, practical student training, and the development of competencies in the field of sustainable urban mobility and transport systems.

The inauguration of the laboratory represents an important step toward strengthening the educational infrastructure of Technical University of Moldova and promoting innovative approaches in transport education aligned with current European sustainable development priorities.

STUDENT SELECTION CONTEST FOR ACADEMIC MOBILITY WITHIN ISDEGO PROJECT UNDER THE ERASMUS+ PROGRAM

Technical University of Moldova announces the organization of the selection contest for students to participate in the academic mobility program within the international Erasmus+ project ISDEGO – “Implementation of Sustainable Urban Development Goals in Transport Bachelor Degree.”

The ISDEGO project aims to integrate the principles of SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities into bachelor-level study programs in Transport Technologies at universities in Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.

! All mobility expenses are covered by the ISDEGO project under the Erasmus+ program.

 

Mobility format

The program is implemented in two stages:

Stage I – Online Mobility (1.5 months) Stage II – Physical Mobility (2 weeks)
📅 9 March – 17 April 2026

Online training based on modules developed by European partner universities, focusing on sustainable development and the achievement of SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”.

📅 May 2026

Practical traineeship at one of the following EU partner universities:

  • University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy)
  • Transilvania University of Brașov (Romania)
  • Maritime University of Szczecin (Poland)
  • Hochschule Wismar – University of Applied Sciences: Technology, Business and Design (Germany)

THE CANDIDATE’S APPLICATION FILE TO ERASMUS+ STUDENT STATUS SHOULD CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS: CRITERIA FOR SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION FILE TO THE ERASMUS+ STUDENT STATUS

1. Application approved and signed only by the Dean of the Faculty (it can be requested from the international relations officer of the faculty).

2. Photocopy of passport. Passport should be valid for the whole period of mobility.

 

3. Letter of motivation in english, addressed to the Selection Committee, stating the main reasons for the choice of mobility, the candidate’s study objectives for mobility, the expected results (1-2 pages).

 

4. Curriculum vitae in English (Europass form + photo).

 

5. English language certificate (minimum B1 according to CEFR Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

1.Eligibility criteria:

– to be a student enrolled at the Technical University of Moldova.

 

2.Selection criteria:

– to meet the eligibility requirements.

– to have good academic results in the academic year prior to mobility and in the last exam.

– Level of motivation (1 – low, 2 – medium, 3 – high)

– Level of academic achievements (1 – satisfactory, 2 – average, 3 – high)

– Previous participation in Erasmus/Erasmus+ programs (1 – participated recently, 2 – participated a long time ago, 3 – never participated)

 

3.Specific criteria:

– to have all the exams passed;

– to submit other documents requested by the selection board in addition;

– to be able to demonstrate specific skills and abilities in accordance with the work to be carried out at the partner university

Technical University of Moldova Staff Participate in Training Mobility at Wismar University of Applied Sciences

During the period 17–21 November 2025 the   academic staff from – Marina Secrieru, Elena Bivol si Rodica BranisteTechnical University of Moldova participated in a training mobility hosted by Wismar University of Applied Sciences (HSW), within the Erasmus+ ISDEGO project (WP3, WP5).

The mobility programme focused on strengthening competencies in sustainable urban development, digital innovation, and modern educational practices. UTM participants engaged in a variety of training activities, including access to university research infrastructure, visits to innovation hubs such as StartUpYard Makerspace and InnovationPort, and interactive sessions at the Technology and Business Center.

The programme also included discussions on microcredentials, digital skills, and professional development, as well as a technical visit to maritime education and simulation facilities in Rostock/Warnemünde. These activities provided valuable insights into innovation ecosystems, technology transfer, and the integration of digital tools in education and transport systems.

Through this mobility, UTM staff enhanced their knowledge and practical skills, contributing to the modernization of curricula and supporting the integration of Sustainable Development Goal 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities – into academic programmes.

Technical University of Moldova Staff Participate in Training Mobility at Maritime University of Szczecin

During the period 17–21 November 2025 the scademic staff from Technical University of Moldova – Irina Tutunaru, Vasilina Popov, Nantoi Vadim participated in an international training mobility hosted by Maritime University of Szczecin within the Erasmus+ ISDEGO project (WP3, WP5).

The mobility programme focused on sustainable urban mobility, transport technologies, and digital innovation. UTM participants were involved in practical sessions covering modern traffic measurement technologies, UAV-based image analysis for urban logistics, 3D simulation environments, and logistics systems including RFID applications.

Through this training, UTM staff strengthened their competencies in data-driven transport analysis and sustainable mobility solutions, gaining hands-on experience with modern equipment and methodologies. The knowledge acquired will support the development of updated curricula and practical learning environments.

Technical University of Moldova Staff Participate in International Training Mobility at Tor Vergata University of Rome

Academic staff from Technical University of Moldova – Olga Harea, Eugeniu Braguța, and Dumitru Ceban – participated in an international training mobility hosted by University of Rome Tor Vergata on 10–14 November 2025 within the ISDEGO project (WP3, WP5).

The mobility programme provided an in-depth overview of internationalization practices, sustainable urban mobility, and digital innovation in transport systems. UTM participants engaged in lectures, discussions, and technical visits covering topics such as Erasmus+ cooperation, smart city development, traffic modelling using PTV Visum, and data-driven urban planning. A highlight of the programme was the technical visit to the Port of Civitavecchia and Metro C system, offering practical insights into large-scale transport infrastructure and logistics.

Through this mobility, UTM staff strengthened their competencies in sustainable transport, digital tools, and innovative teaching approaches. The knowledge gained will contribute to the development of modernized curricula and the implementation of practical learning environments, including the Sustainable Urban Transport Laboratory (SUTLab).

UTM will integrate the acquired knowledge into teaching and research activities, while continuing collaboration with international partners to promote sustainable urban mobility and smart city solutions.

Technical University of Moldova Participates in International Teaching Mobility on Urban Mobility in Brașov

Teaching staff from Technical University of Moldova actively participated in an international teaching mobility hosted by Transilvania University of Brasov on 10–14 November 2025, within the framework of the ISDEGO project (WP5).

The Moldovan delegation included academic staff members Alioa Lîsîi, Nina Garștea, and Igor Rotaru, who took part in specialized training sessions focused on urban mobility and transport systems analysis. The sessions were delivered by professors from the host institution, including Stelian Tarulescu and Dinu Covaciu, covering topics such as the evaluation of urban mobility scenarios in freight transportation and traffic flow simulation using VISSIM and VISUM (PTV) software.

The training took place at the N Building of Transilvania University of Brașov and was conducted according to the established work agenda. Participants from Moldova engaged in interactive discussions and practical sessions, exchanging expertise with colleagues from Romania and other partner institutions from Ukraine.

This mobility contributed to strengthening the academic and professional capacities of the Moldovan teaching staff, particularly in the fields of freight mobility in urban areas and road traffic simulation. The knowledge and skills acquired during the sessions will further support the development of modernized curricula and teaching approaches at the Technical University of Moldova.

Progress Seminar “Micro-Credentials in Technical Higher Education”

On October 21, 2025, the Progress Seminar “Micro-Credentials in Technical Higher Education: European Practices, National Challenges, and Pathways for Ukraine and Moldova. Application of Micro-Credentials in Transport and Logistics” was hosted by O.M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv.
The event, organized by the Transport Systems and Logistics Department, took place online via Zoom and gathered over 80 participants from universities in the EU (Poland, Italy, Romania, Germany), as well as from Ukraine and Moldova.

The seminar focused on emerging educational needs and core skills required in the rapidly evolving labor market in engineering, transport, and logistics. Participants explored European best practices in implementing micro-credentials and exchanged experiences on their integration into technical higher education.

Discussions highlighted key national challenges and outlined prospects for developing micro-credential systems in Ukraine and Moldova, particularly in the transport and logistics sector.

The event was held within the framework of the ISDEGO Project, which promotes the integration of UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) into bachelor’s programs in transport technologies at Ukrainian and Moldovan universities.

Announcement Progress Seminar on Micro-Credentials in Technical Higher Education within the Framework of the ISDEGO Project

On October 21, 2025, the international KA2 project ISDEGO (“Implementation of Sustainable Urban Development Goals in Transport Bachelor Degree”) under the Erasmus+ programme will hold an online seminar to present the results of initial research on micro-credentials and share European and national experiences in higher education — with a focus on transport and logistics in Ukraine and Moldova.
